Oh, It didn't really hurt at all. I guess some soccer players hit balls with their heads on purpose.
Eek! This can seem funny, but we just had a mom in our homeschool group that had this happen to her. She had permanent nerve damage now, and has been on bed rest for 3 months. The doctors expect it to take up to a year for her to be recovered enough to go back to her daily duties.

I hate that. And I've never understood why the person who gets hit in the head is the one who looks and feels foolish. Chello, I just got hit in the head...ice pack, sympathy, diet coke, anyone? Nope. Just the stares you describe.
I am with Cottage Child. It's not your fault you were sitting there reading, minding your own business, and some 5 yr-old's stray kick lands on your noggin. A little ice and sympathy should have been offered. {sniff}
oh ouch... I hate that. Especially when it happens while I'm playing the piano...
