Six-year-old daughter:
Were Adam and Eve the first ones to give their clothes to Goodwill?
Me:
No, remember Adam and Eve put on clothes when they ate the apple and realized they were naked.
Daughter:
Then where did they get clothes if there were no clothes at Goodwill?

Do you think their fig leaves would have been in the sales bin?
I would have been all over them if they were--or maybe a tiger skin singlet...after the Fall, that is.
I love this conversation!
This will totally be my daughter when she's older. Our clothes only come from Goodwill or my sewing machine!
Ha! It's good to know we aren't the only ones who would be naked without Goodwill.
I took my daughter out today to buy a dress for baby's baptism, and she pleaded, "Please, Mom, let's not go to Salvation Army."
And we didn't, and we found nothing, because new clothes for eight-year-old girls of a certain size simply don't exist. You can only find them at Goodwill and Salvation Army, or at the consignment store.
Heehee! It's good to know we're not the only ones who take for granted that the thrift store is where clothes come from...
